What should I definitely pack?

Important sailing gear and back-ups that any skipper should have in his/her inventory when sailing on a catamaran in Istria.

  • Personal identity card or passport (+copies)
  • Health insurance card
  • Vaccination record (check if necessary, e.g. ticks, etc.)
  • travel insurance documents, if available
  • Skipper license
  • Driver’s license
  • Credit/debit card and cash

Electronics

  • Powerbank (with solar if necessary)
  • USB charging port
  • Dry bag
  • Camera / drone / underwater camera / cover
  • Your electronic devices + suitable charging cable (camera/mobile phone/laptop/etc.)
  • Cruise preparation with the right apps and nautical charts

Leisure time

  • A book or magazine of your choice
  • Music + headphones
  • Board/social/card games
  • Pens + paper
  • Meal planning
  • Good mood :))

Clothing

  • Shoes with soft soles + flip-flops
  • Sunglasses (with strap)
  • Sun hat/cap
  • Swim shorts/bikini/swimsuit
  • Rainwear – depending on the weather
  • T-shirts, shorts, tops, underwear, socks, pyjamas
  • Clothing (also sometimes nice and maritime for lunch or dinner ashore)
  • Cosmetics (deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.)
  • Sunscreen (environmentally friendly)
  • Remedy for mosquito bites/sunburn
  • Remedy for seasickness
  • Necessary medication for all crew members
