A sudden rain shower or freshening wind can also dampen the mood on board if you are not prepared. In this article, I will show you the best sun and weather protection solutions on board – regardless of whether you are traveling on a sailing yacht or renting a catamaran in Croatia.
1. Bimini top: the classic against sun and rain
A bimini top is part of the basic equipment of many yachts – and for good reason. It offers reliable protection from the blazing sun and can also be shielded from rain or wind with side extensions. On a catamaran in particular, the bimini is often generously designed and offers plenty of shade.
2. Sprayhood: protection when riding and in bad weather
The sprayhood is a must, especially on a classic sailing yacht. It not only protects against spray, but also against rain and wind. In combination with the bimini, it creates a sheltered area in the cockpit – ideal for unstable weather.
